URSULA LIANG (director, producer, cinematographer) is an award-winning director and producer with 25 years of experience in storytelling. Her debut feature, 9-Man, was broadcast on public television and called “an absorbing documentary” by the New York Times. Her second film, Down a Dark Stairwell, had its premiere at True/False and was called “the most essential Asian American documentary in decades.” Her latest feature, Jeanette Lee Vs., is part of ESPN’s acclaimed 30 for 30 series while her most recent short, Two Strikes, aired on the iconic PBS series Frontline. Her work has been supported by ITVS, Ford Foundation, Sundance Institute, Firelight Media, and the Center for Asian American Media. Before becoming a filmmaker, Ursula held staff positions at The New York Times Op-Docs, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, ESPN The Magazine, Asia Pacific Forum and Hyphen magazine. She also produced for television (UFC Primetime, NBC Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge). Ursula is a member of Film Fatales, A-DOC, IDD, and is the Vice President of Brown Girls Doc Mafia. MICHELLE CHANG (editor) is an Emmy-nominated film editor who specializes in long-form documentary. She recently worked as co-editor on the feature “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry,” editor of the feature “Black and Cuba” and additional editor for the POV broadcast cut of “American Promise.” She is also the editor of “(A)sexual,” co-editor of “Camp Victory, Afghanistan” and associate editor of “Pushing the Elephant.” Chang edited three seasons of “Black Folk Don’t,” an NBPC web series discussing stereotypes in the black community. She is a former associate producer for ABC’s “20/20” and “Primetime” and Sundance Documentary Edit and Story Lab assistant and fellow. Chang grew up in Troy, Michigan and lives in Brooklyn, New York. 

MELANIE RILEY-GREEN (executive producer) is a senior buyer for the TJX Companies Inc - Marmaxx Group where she is responsible for the global sourcing, selection and purchasing of women's athletic apparel for TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores. Formerly a buyer for Borders Inc. and Ross stores Inc., she has bought everything from pillows to electronics to dresses for customers in England, Germany, Poland, Canada, and the U.S. Melanie has the distinction of being the first African-American to complete the buyer training program for the global retail giant TJX and was honored with a YMCA Black Achiever Award and a training fellowship at the Off Price Leadership Center. She has a BA in communications and fine arts from the University of Michigan and has travels extensively for pleasure and work—Guangzhou and Shanghai, China are regular destinations for her job. Melanie was raised in metro Detroit and lives in Brooklyn, New York.

THERESA NAVARRO (co-producer) is an organizer, educator, producer, actress and associate producer for the non-profit media company American Documentary. Formerly the director of community outreach at the independent media non-profit Arts Engine, curator of the Media That Matters annual showcase, development & communications manager at Educational Video Center, and corporate relations manager for the Center for Asian American Media, Navarro recently produced the Sundance-award-winning sci-fi feature “Advantageous,” the indie comedies “Yes, We’re Open” and “Daylight Savings,” and co-produced the transmedia project "With Wings and Roots." In 2011, she was selected as one of 15 Asian American Women Leaders for her work in promoting the media arts. Navarro grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.

SCOTT “Chops” JUNG (composer) is a hip-hop and R&B producer and recording artist known for a unique multi-instrument, no-sample production style that has allowed him to work with some of the world's biggest and most talented artists (Kanye West, Bun B, Lil Wayne, The Lonely Island, Nicki Minaj, Chamillionaire, Paul Wall, Raekwon, Talib Kweli, E-40, Ice Cube, The Game, Snoop Dogg). Chops’ music has been featured in ads for Nike and Coca Cola and in the TV shows Grey's Anatomy, Psych, House of Lies, Breaking Bad, Law & Order: SVU, Parks and Recreation, Basketball Wives, and the films Brown Sugar, House of Wax, Hurricane Season, Face, Ping Pong Playa. His work has charted on the Billboard Top 100. As a pioneering recording artist with the hip-hop trio the Mountain Brothers, Chops was part of the first Asian-American rap group signed to a major label. In 2014, he released Strength in NUMBERS, an independent project uniting the best established and aspiring Asian American and international urban music artists today with his signature powerhouse tracks. Chops lives in Philadelphia, PA.

ADAM RUBENSTEIN (composer) is a freelance composer, producer and music supervisor with experience ranging from touring/studio musician to sonic branding. His obsession with music developed during his tenure as the long time guitarist and songwriter for the internationally-heralded indie stalwarts, Chamberlain. After relocating from his home state of Indiana to New York, he used his talents and experience as a scout for EMI Music Publishing, a product manager for The Working Group Artist Management & Doghouse Records, and a music supervisor/producer for the industry-leading music house, Man Made Music. His client list includes Activision, Barnes & Noble, Hewlett Packard, MTV, ABC, Brandesco,  WWE, Ivy Tech, and many more. Recently he worked on music for AT&T and A&E and scored much of the acclaimed basketball documentary “Medora.” In 2013 he also completed a solo album entitled "Excavator" (released by Germany's Arctic Rodeo Recordings) that was championed Rolling Stone, Magnet, and Alternative Press. This fall, he will tour Europe.

JOHN A. FAN (creative director) is an art director, designer and illustrator working in San Francisco. He runs Circle Square Creative, a boutique design company that offers original ideas and solutions to people who believe in truth, passion and connection. The company specializes in direction, brand management, art direction, design, animation, and illustration.
